WeBot - Media Streaming Optimized for iPhone

2007-09-17 002 003 2007-09-17 002 007

WeBot is a new media streaming service with a slick, optimized interface for the iPhone. It allows you to stream photos and music from as many PCs as you like and get to your content easily while you’re on the go.

It’s currently in beta, and for now just supports .jpeg format for pictures, and .MP3 for music / audio files. Getting going with WeBot is easy - you just download, install it on any PCs with content you want to stream, and select which folders and files to share.

Both the desktop and iPhone interface are well laid out and simple to work with. It is said to work over both Edge and WiFi, but Edge is (not surprisingly) not a whole lot of fun to work with.

I’ve not been a big user of streaming applications in the past, but WeBot seems a very nice streaming option for the iPhone  - especially if free space on the phone is an issue and you want to cut down on the items you sync to it.

If you want to give WeBot a try, use the beta invite code: 2testIt and check it out at:

Actually the invite code has been removed, inching us ever closer to going public. Nowadays all you need to do is sign up for an account and you’ll automatically be served the proper download — mac or windows. We’re even testing Linux right now with our beta test team, but it’s not yet available from the site.
