vTap is a very cool, and very fast, way to search for, find, and play video on the iPhone (or just about any standard or mobile browser). I find it much better to work with than the iPhone’s built-in YouTube application.
Here’s some of what makes vTap so cool:
- It searches as you type (character-based incremental search) and very intelligently - so in the screencap above right, all I typed was ‘off’ and it’s already showing me The Office (tvseries) which is exactly what I was after! Try the same search on the YouTube app and you will not get these results, or any results while you are typing for that matter.
- It’s very fast (much faster search results than the YouTube app) and it can play video from just about any source and makes use of the iPod player on the iPhone
- When a video ends, it flips back seamlessly to the vTap screen you were on in Safari
- It’s got nice little extras like bookmarking and sharing clips with very few taps
vTap is one to bookmark for sure, on your iPhone, desktop, and anywhere that you might search for video.

OMG, this is like the best Web app ever. I love it. Very slick, and my YouTube vids are finally searchable and playable on my iPhone.
Love how it scrolls news while downloading too. Amazing.

Glad you like it. I think it’s awesome too. Knew I was going to like it first time I saw a web demo / interview with one of the guys who makes it.
