More On The Latest Installer Version - 1.1.1 Firmware Recommended

I’ve just noticed that there is a lot more information on the latest Installer version, on its Featured screen. Here’s some of the most notable stuff:

"This release uses a different core repository and firmware 1.1.1 is recommended."

Known Issues:

  • Random hangs
  • Section list titles for ‘Recent Packages’ are poorly implemented
  • Free space check / display is missing
  • Refreshes may hang
  • More Info pages do not scale
  • No Safari plugin available yet
  • Local installs not yet supported

There’s more, but those seem like the major ones for now.

One other cool feature of this new version that I forgot to mention in the previous post is that when you hit ‘More Info’ for an individual package, it doesn’t launch Safari and load a web page anymore. As per the list above, the More Info pages currently don’t scale, so you have to do some serious scrolling on some of them.

I have not had the app hang on me yet, but I have seen the slow refreshes issue. Even so, I’m still loving this update.
