Nikotalkie Updated - Address Book Access Added

Nikotalkie - the native iPhone application for sending voice messages - has been updated.  The latest Version 1.4.2 has added:

  • Access to the iPhone address book, so you can quickly select an email address to send a voice message to
  • The Nikotalk feature - which lets you connect two regular phones to place very inexpensive phone calls (an example quoted on Nikotalkie’s site is 2 cents per minute for a call from the USA to Germany, which is said to be 9 cents a minute with AT&T, plus a monthly charge)

Alert sounds for new messages also seem to work better with this latest version.

If you haven’t tried Nikotalkie yet you should give it a look - it’s a nice alternative to text messaging in many situations - as it lets you just speak your message rather than bothering with typing.
