Is There an iPhone (doctor) In The House?

Have you spotted a doctor or nurse cranking out an iPhone to look up yunbound1our latest symptoms?  I haven’t yet, but it looks like that may be coming soon.

Unbound Medicine has just released Unbound MEDLINE for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  Here’s the publisher’s description of what Unbound MEDLINE offers:

Unbound MEDLINE provides instant access to more than 17 million journal articles so healthcare providers can practice evidence-based medicine right at the point of care. Unbound MEDLINE’s powerful yet intuitive interface quickly searches the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed® database. Unbound MEDLINE users can track leading journals and receive tables of contents and abstracts from selected journals directly to their iPhone. Plus, Unbound’s unique Best Evidence search instantly defines search parameters to retrieve evidence-based journal articles in areas of relevance to practice.

The iPhone’s multitouch interface makes it a natural for uses like this - but I think I’d get a bit ‘edgy’ (bad pun intended) if a healthcare pro was waiting on EDGE speeds to cure me of my ills! :)

Access to Unbound MEDLINE is apparently free only for a ‘limited time’, and you can check it out at:
