Got Milk? I Do

rtmiphone1

Sorry. That’s a bit of a gross headline, but I couldn’t resist.

A few months back I did a roundup of some of the very good choices there are for to-do list manager applications for the iPhone (almost all web apps). At that time I had not yet discovered Remember The Milk. Well, I’ve been using RTM for a little over a month now (since they launched their iPhone optimized interface) and loving it.

At some point I will probably update that roundup post and ramble on for quite a while about the many great features that RTM offers, both on the desktop and the iPhone - like reminders by email or IM or SMS, Google Calendar integration, tags, lists, sharing of tasks, publishing your lisrtm1ts via an RSS feed, widgets for iGoogle and elsewhere, and more.

But for now … I’m just going to say I loved RTM so much that I stumped up my $25 and upgraded to the Pro version - which you need to do if you want the iPhone optimized interface after the trial period. That’s about as big a recommendation as I can give on this one, since when I started using it I had no intention of looking beyond free online apps for task management.

The thing that has hooked me on RTM and made me get my wallet out, is its gorgeous and easy to use interface. From the crisp white and blue color scheme to the elegant menu and page layouts, everything about RTM’s design just feels right, from the first time I used it. And this is not a case of style over substance either - the fact is that because the interface is so clean and sharp to work with, so compelling really, that I *want* to use it more - so I’m actually far more likely to jot down every little brainstorm and ‘Oh crap I didn’t …’ thought right away.

If you’re looking for a slick, powerful, and friendly to-do list app for the iPhone, I would highly recommend Remember The Milk.

I’m using it too and was happy to pony up the $25 for it. I especially love the integration with Jott and the morning email of my tasks for the day.

Have either of you tried Vitalist? Just my two cents.

rotero - I have tried Vitalist and included it in the original roundup post. It’s very good. I just find that I don’t work well with the GTD methods - just a personal thing …

I tried this and it’s very good. I have no problem shelling out the $25 either.
