iSMS allows you to send text messages to multiple recipients …
I swear, momentum is definitely picking up in the iPhone native apps arena. A lot of good stuff is coming along without any whiff of an SDK from Apple just yet.
iSMS is another great example of an app that ticks off a popular iPhone Wish List item – as it allows you to send SMS messages to multiple recipients.
The interface for iSMS is much more like an email client – with folders for Inbox, Drafts, and Sent. It also has a couple little niceties that many may enjoy – a set of smileys / emoticons to choose from and insert in your message, and a Templates list with a number of frequently used bits of canned text to insert without typing, such as: ‘Please call’; ‘I’m in a meeting, call me later’; ‘I am late, I will be there at’. There’s even a Search button to, well, search for keywords within your sent and received messages.
The app also offers a ‘Run in Background’ option under preferences, which of course is probably a battery buster, but hey it’s there if you want it.
iSMS does not do threading of your SMS conversations – but since the built-in iPhone text messaging app is still around, you can switch between the two and see threading when you want.
iSMS is available now via Installer.

I sent this to the programmer today…
FYI: I’ve tested this in several ways now and it looks like your app has a formatting problem. Like the app is sending it out in one encoding when the other services (sprint, verizon) are expecting it in another. Verizon customers never seem to receive the messages at all while Sprint customers get blank or misc text.
Marc8773 – thanks for the info! I have not tried sending to Sprint or Verizon users yet. Let us know what you find out …
