Brilliant - Play Piano on the iPhone

iano iPhone app

This is brilliant.  Seems like every time you get a little jaded with the whole jailbreak experience, somebody will come along with an app that just makes you say ‘oh yeah - glad I did’. iAno, developed by Mark Terry, is one of those apps.

It’s a virtual piano for the iPhone, with the following features:

  • A complete four octave keyboard. iano3
  • Multi-touch. Up to 5 keys can be pressed at once allowing complex chords.
  • Sounds like a real piano with realistic piano multi-samples.
  • Animated piano keys react to your touch.
  • Play along to all your MP3s.
  • On-screen keyboard navigation allows you to easily move up and down by octaves or "part octaves" (ie. left-most key is a C or an F).

I’m not even a musical type - love listening, but no affinity for creating - but this is *still* fun.  I imagine it’s a whole lot of fun for someone who knows what they’re doing - and I’m sure this will be one my daughter loves - and she does seem to have a little musicality (???) in her!  My only problem at all with the app is wondering how the heck you pronounce it - agh, no worries, I’m just going to call it ‘That Piano App’ for now.

Anyway - iAno - brilliant - available now on Installer.

For more info, a great video demo, and a very impressive list of planned future features, check out the developer’s site HERE

Thanks to EIC forum member x999x / x666x for the heads-up on this app getting ready to launch …
