Want ALL of Wikipedia on Your iPhone?

Ever hear someone described as ‘a walking encyclopedia’ on some particular subject?  Well, now you can make yourself a walking (and traWikipedia iPhone appsh-talking?) encyclopedia on all subjects - courtesy of a new application that brings *all* of Wikipedia to your iPhone.

It’s the warm fuzzy feeling of having the sum of all human knowledge in your pocket. It’s the hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy realised. EDGE is slow; search is slow; you’re abroad, in a plane, a tunnel, or on top of a mountain.  You have an iPod Touch.

A guy called Patrick Collinson has developed the Wikipedia app, which is an offline Wikipedia reader for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  The app will take up around 2.2GB of space - so it’s not one for me on my 4Gb model - and still has some rough edges according to the developer, but this is a tremendously useful looking program if you’ve got the space for it.

See HERE for more details and installation instructions.
