3D Games for iPhone!

iPhone 3D games 3Dgames3

OK, so it’s looking more and more like the SDK is *not* going to get released on time this month.  So … what do we do in the meantime?   Well, jailbreak and enjoy the ever-increasing number of cool apps already developed without any SDK / help from Apple.

Now you can add 3D Games to the list of cool things to try out.  Yeti3D is a Doom / Quake like game with lights, 3D enemies, health, ammo and all that jazz.  iPac3D is a Pac Man inspired game where you run round a 3D maze and face off against 3D human enemies.  Both games look amazing on the iPhone, and already play pretty well also.

Both games have been developed by Marco Giorgini - an Ital3Dgamesian programmer who works in the semantic / linguistic field.  Luckily for us, the iPhone and games are now one of his hobbies.  He has adapted Yeti3D from a 3D game engine by Derek John Evans.

Marco says both Yeti3D and iPac3D are pre-release versions right now, and it sounds like he has lots more planned for them.  Nice.  For now, iPac3D has four levels, and Yeti3D has just one level.

To get hold of these games and check out the 3D possibilities on the iPhone, you need to add Marco’s source in Installer.  The source address is:

These may help tide you over a bit while we’re all still waiting on the infamous SDK.

Thanks to EIC forum member katra for the heads-up on these great games …
