O2 is going to launch the iPhone in Ireland on March 14th, just three days shy of being a St. Pattie’s Day present for Irish iPhone lovers.
An 8GB model will go for €399, and the 16Gb big brother will cost €499. Sounds like Ireland is getting a severely bum deal on data rates and carrier plans though:
Tariffs range from €45 for 175 minutes to €100 for 700 minutes, and all plans include 1GB of data.
That’s very steep - voice data rate substantially higher than in the UK, and no unlimited data - and even worse if reports that Visual Voicemail is not included are true!
I don’t know if we have any Irish readers, but if we do - are you spitting out your Guinness when looking at those rates???
