Guitarist for iPhone Launched

Guitarist iPhone app

setup

Moo Cow Music - the same folks who recently brought us Pianist and Drummer for the iPhone - have now released Guitarist, for all your strumming and solo-ing needs.

Guitarist has been eagerly anticipated, due to the popularity of Pianist and Drummer, and also because it is supposed to be easier to use than Pocket Guitar.

Current and planned features of Guitarist include:

  • Unique "hammer-on" metaphor simplifies solo playing by removing the need to independently fret and pick a string.
  • A complete guitar fretboard (including open strings) to the 15th fret.
  • Multi-touch. Up to 5 strings can be played at once.
  • Each note is a separately recorded sample, for maximum quality.
  • Animated strings press down at your touch for visual feedback.
  • Acoustic guitar patch included, with more options available in a later release.
  • On-screen keyboard navigation allows you to easily move up and down the fretboard.
  • Left handed stringing option.
  • Various guitar tunings available with more to follow.
  • Future updates will see a rhythm-guitar backing chord sequencer, electric guitars, more tuning options, and the ability to record and playback your tunes.

There’s a demo video up at the Moo Cow site HERE.

Guitarist is out now on Installer.  As usual, give it a go and tell us what you think - or in this case, post a link to a YouTube vid showing us what you can do :)
