Have you tried out Friendfeed yet?  If not, I highly recommend it.  I am terrible at describing the virtues of Friendfeed - my best effort is to say it is a very good aggregator with hooks into shared items via Twitter, Google Reader, Flickr, Stumbleupon (and lots more social services) for people you follow.  It also lets you comment directly on these items and provides a very strong conversation platform.

And … an iPhone application for Friendfeed is being worked on.  Good news:

Unfortunately, it’s not done just yet; Shane Vitarana is working on it and has a video of the application to show, but no public beta at this moment. The working title of the project is FriendFeed Touch, but this will likely change as it is a third party application. As far as features go, you can see your personal feed, your friends’ feed and the public feed; links aren’t clickable yet, but they will be.

Shane is also planning to implement “the ability to post to FriendFeed, including directly posting photos taken with the iPhone camera” as well as create detailed views according to the service.

Definitely looking forward to seeing this one …
