Naked Case for iPhone

Seems like It was just the other day that we were telling you about a brand new hard shell touch-through case for the iPhone, and thinking it was the first case of this type that we’d seen.   Today, Case-Mate is announcing what they say is ‘the world’s first touch through case for the iPhone’ – called Naked Case for iPhone.

I think the case’s name is great- it should appeal to lots of folks who either still carry their iPhone naked, without any case, or for those who grudgingly use a case but love the idea of the naked iPhone.  The Case-Mate promo blurb for it plays up on all these feelings as well:  "It’s as if your iPhone was wearing nothing at all!"

Here’s a little more about the makings of the case:

This acrylic iPhone case is the only case that provides full protection for your screen. The patent pending electrostatic membrane on the front of this case actually mimics the way the iPhone screen works, allowing full touch through access, while still protecting your screen from scratches. Cutouts are provided for full access to all controls.

Needless to say, I have no idea whose case really is the first case of this kind – Case-Mate or Ivyskin – but for anyone who likes minimal coverage and maximum protection for their iPhone, it is good to see both of these cases around really.  Also, interesting to see that the Naked Case is priced at $34.99, just like the Xylo Touch-Thru.

You can get more detail on the Naked Case HERE, and check out a video showing off how the touch through works at:
