Picking a restaurant can be a real pain in the neck at times. There just seem to be days where getting two or more people to agree on a venue quickly seems an uphill battle.
So the upcoming Urbanspoon app for the iPhone App Store sounds like a bit of good fun, and also a potential big help on those days when restaurant decisions are hard to come by.
Here’s how the program works:
The app is extremely simple. You open it, it detects your location then you shake your iPhone. This causes a series of sliders to spin around like a slot machine until they land with a recommendation on where to go. You don’t like the pick? Simply shake it again.
One of the ideas behind the app is to make use of Urbanspoon’s collected reviews from local newspapers, bloggers, and other users within "something fun and toy-like …"
Urbanspoon currently covers 41 cities across the US. The app should be ready to go when the App Store launches, and will be a free one. Free, fun, and helping you to find where to eat with minimal fuss - sounds like a good one to me …
