Evernote Now Open To All

EvernoteGraphic

Evernote - a huge favorite application for myself, Brandon, Dan and just about all of us here - has now finished its extensive private beta period and is open for everyone to sign up for an use.

If you haven’t had a chance to try out Evernote yet, you absolutely need to.  It is a superb, do-it-all notes and photos and all-around information capturing tool that is incredibly versatile and powerful.  It also has an excellent iPhone web-based client, and I have a feeling probably a native app in the works somewhere.

Evernote is fully cross-platform, with full desktop apps for WindevernoteiPhone1ows, Mac, and Linux - as well as a great online version that has just been refreshed to go along with the full launch and looks slicker than ever.  The app does a great job making it easy to keep everything in sync from desktop to web, so all your information is available wherever you are - and offers a special email address to send photos to your account straight from the iPhone or other smartphones.

The Evernote beta has been given a run for its money by some 130,000 users during its private beta period, and has had mostly rave reviews all over the web.

One of the best things about the full public launch of Evernote is that they have kept a fully free version available, that is only limited in very minor ways - by having an upload limit of 40mb per month, which is still fairly generous.  There is also a premium level upgrade that gets you additional storage (500mb per month), priority handling of photos, some extra security (SSL) an premium tech support.
