3GCountdownWidget1

The Boy Genius Report has got a report up on a tip they’ve received - saying that AT&T stores will be putting the iPhone 3G on sale at 8:00am on July 11th - not 6pm or late in the day, which had been the consensus pick so far for 3G launch day rumors.

I know, I know - there will be plenty more of this sort of rumor stuff over the course of the next couple of weeks leading up to the iPhone 3G going on sale on July 11th - but this is one rumor that sounds awful good compared to what we had been hearing.

And sure, 8:00am, 6pm, it’s all pretty small stuff in any sort of grand scheme of things - but it just makes no sense to me for Apple / AT&T stores to do nothing all day and only start selling at 6:00pm - especially since it seems clear lines and waiting times are going to be *substantially* longer with the (reported) mandatory in-store activation.

Thanks to Macgirl in a forum post at EverythingCafe for the heads-up on this.  I vote for this rumor :)
