MMS, iPhones in Best Buy, Lots of Good Rumors

iphone-mms

I think I may have mentioned I am definitely finding the way-ayyyy-ting is the hardest part, leading up to the iPhone 3G and especially the 2.0 software and App Store launch.  Luckily there is no shortage of juicy iPhone rumors of all sorts making their way round the web this week, to keep me at least a little distracted.  Like …

An alleged leaked memo from within AT&T that indicates MMS may finally be coming to the iPhone!  This one seems a longshot and the report as well as the screencap shown above have been greeted with a fair dose of skepticism.

Reports that a deal with China Mobile to distribute the iPhone in the world’s biggest market may be getting closer, with the biggest obstacle to an agreement (revenue sharing) now off the table.  One step closer to world domination if this one gets done sometime this year.

And on Friday afternoon unconfirmed tips over at The Boy Genius Report that Apple will start extending where it sells the iPhone in the US, via Best Buy and Radio Shack stores.  No word on (if this accurate) whether that would be from July 11 launch day, or staggered sometime afterwards.  I’d love to see Best Buy get in on the iPhone action.  I’ve bought several things recently through them and especially enjoy the convenience of buying online for collection at the store same or next day.  Even if you still had to do the activation piece in store, this would likely still save a fair bit of hassle.

Those are just a few of the many good rumors getting some play this week.  What’s your current favorite?  The one you’d most like to see come true?

And it is the old version of SwirlyMMS. Version 1.0 is way better. It even sends and receives video messages!! Patrick, I’m surprised you got caught up in Gizmodo’s error.
