There’s some very positive sounding stuff around today on the progress and prospects of a 2.0 firmware jailbreak. ModMyiFone are reporting what for now are rumors on the Dev Team conquering 2.0, along with several screencaps like the one shown above - check out Installer an Cydia sitting right next to the App Store!
Also, earlier today Nate True - one of the leading and first iPhone hackers, former Dev Team member, and developer of Tap Tap Revolution - had this to say on Twitter:
iPhone 2.0 firmware is definitely already jailbroken. might be a couple days before they get it all tested, packaged, and released, though
All sounding very good if you’re in the ‘want my cake and to eat it too’ group who does not want to upgrade to 2.0 until there is a jailbreak. Although of course the next thing many will be wanting to see is their favorite jailbreak apps getting updated for the 2.0 firmware (Hey Dave!). Here’s hoping both efforts are moving along as quickly as it sounds like they are
