Yes, There Will Be an iPhone Voice Dial App In The App Store

The lack of voice dialing capability is another of those big holes in the list of built-in iPhone capabilities.  And another one that will soon be plugged via the iPhone App Store.

Voice Dial - from Makayama Software - should be available at the opening of the new App Store.  This app has been available as a jailbreak app, and will go for $24.95.

As many of you know, there has been a jailbreak version of Voice Dial out for several months now, and I’ve reviewed it HERE.  My biggest gripe with the program was the level of accuracy on its voice command recognition.  So I am glad to hear that Makayama is promising big improvements in this area for the App Store version:

Worth noting is that VoiceDial has improved recognition and improved
sound quality (we use PCM audio in the SDK version, before we used lower
quality AMR).

Makayama will also be bringing two of their other well-known jailbreak apps to the App Store - CameraPRO and Photo Dial.  CameraPRO adds many extra features not offered by the built-in camera (like digital zoon, burst mode, black and white mode, jpeg quality settings, and the ability to store higher quality tiff images).  Photo Dial is a photo contacts dialer app.

Both CameraPRO and Photo Dial are set to be available when the App Store opens and will sell for $19.95 and $14.95 respectively.
