Some very good news for fans of Mobile Twitter - the popular jailbreak Twiitter client for the iPhone. Nicholas Pike - the app’s developer - has now been accepted into the Apple Developer Program, and has had a change of heart and will be bringing Mobile Twitter to the iPhone App Store.
Some even better news … Mobile Twitter will be a free app.
Nicholas does not have a timeframe as yet for release of Mobile Twitter in the App Store, but has said the initial release should be identical features-wise to the existing 1.5.2 jailbreak version. New features will be planned for subsequent updates.
He’ll also soon be releasing his popular iXboxLive app - which shows your Xbox Live Friends list - to the App Store, and possibly some other smaller apps prior to the release of Mobile Twitter.
I’m very glad to hear Mobile Twitter is on its way to the App Store. Twitter clients is shaping up to be an apps category where we will have several good, strong choices available - and hopefully that can only help to keep them all sharp and continually improving …

I love Twitterific so far but haven’t used Mobile Twitter yet. As you said the more options, the better off we’d be! Is there anything specific you like about Mobile Twitter that’s not in Twitterific? One thing I miss from using Twhirl is all the options to see dms, and @ messages.

karthik - Mobile Twitter has a simple, clean UI - that’s deinfitely one thing to like. It also has a dedicated tab (see screenie above) for @ replies. Beyond that I can’t recall just now, as I no longer have a jailborken phone to fire it up on
