The AppStore runs quite smoothly for me - hasn't crashed once. Then again, I seem to have gotten lucky as my entire iPhone has been running pretty stable. Installer most certainly has improved, though - I remember when it was an ugly, disorganized mess. I'm not crazy about the UI of the new version, but overall, it's a step up.
