Best Buy To Sell iPhone
14 Aug
Best Buy has announced that they will begin selling the iPhone on September 7 at their nearly 1,000 stores, becoming the first retailer besides Apple and AT&T to do so. Apple cited the good relationship with Best Buy, who currently sells Macintosh computers, iPods, and accessories, as one of the main reasons for allowing Best Buy to sell the iPhone.
Best Buy has upgraded their computer systems to handle iPhone activations as part of its larger strategy of focusing on smartphones. The company cited strong consumer interest in smartphones and a tenfold increase in sales in the last two years in announcing its smartphone-centric strategy. Best Buy is also the only retailer of Samsung’s Instinct, which AT&T competitor Sprint offers to compete with the iPhone, besides Sprint’s own stores.

I have read this before, I’m just wondering what’s the big deal that BestBuy sells iPhone?
Will thy be able to offer accidental damage covarage?? Thy would be the only advantage I can see as to buying from them rather then Apple or ATT..

In the short term, it opens the choices for those who want to buy an iPhone but don’t have a convenient Apple Store or AT&T Store. I am also hoping that it will mean a significant increase in the number of iPhone accessories there.
