Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the AppStore

Alright - File this one under the list of stuff I totally forgot was coming to the iPhone. I think I saw the demo when it first got mentioned (see below) back in July, but since then it had fallen completely off the radar - at least for me. Heck the only thing Star Wars I was thinking about was if PhoneSaber was really going to make a comeback. Well, for some of you this is definitely going to be the top release of the day/week since it takes PhoneSaber sounds and actually teams it up with real butt kicking gameplay! Read on, maybe watch the video, or bypass all that and go grab your copy! ($9.99)

Back in July, we got our first glimpse of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the iPhone. In the demo, the game seemed to make clever (although possibly somewhat distracting) use of the touch screen. In the end, we were eager to try it out.

UPDATE:

So, the reviews are starting to flow in and by almost all accounts so far this may be one of those games you buy, play, beat and forget. This “Look” from Touch Arcade seems to sum up the story so far…

The entire Story can be played in one sitting of about 2+ hours. There are 6 Chapters total in the story intertwined with a lengthy plot line. If not for the plot line dialog and transitions, the game could be completed in an even shorter time period.

The actual game play is quite enjoyable and tie-ins to the Star Wars franchise certainly help. Who hasn’t wanted to fling storm troopers into a wall with the flick of a finger? But the actual “puzzles” presented are incredibly simple, making the game just a paint-by-numbers sort of experience.
