Wal-Mart Rolls Out iPhone Site

imageJoining the ranks of other companies smitten with attracting the growing number of iPhone users, Wal-Mart has debuted an iPhone-ready web site.  Users surfing to http://www.wal-mart.com will be automatically redirected to the iPhone version of the web site.

Once on the site, users have an option to browse either Wal-Mart’s products or services - the latter having only a recipe service when we visited.  The product section is well executed, and allows shoppers to browse Wal-Mart’s offerings, see what items are online, and even find which stores have it in stock.   However, you cannot buy items on the iPhone site and are instead directed to the non-iPhone site to do so.   There is also a Store Finder option that allows you to find the nearest store.

If you shop at Wal-Mart, this is definitely a site you’ll want to bookmark.
