We don’t usually talk much (at all) about NAS (network attached storage) devices at JAiB – but I found it very interesting to see that the new Linkstation Pro NAS device from Buffalo Technology has added support for the iPhone, and is actually touting this quite a bit. Here’s a quick snippet from their press release:

As the answer to all your storage and sharing needs, this high performance NAS device allows iPhone owners to access their photos, videos, files, etc., via Buffalo’s unique Web Access 2.0 feature. Web Access allows users to access data via a web browser from any computer.

This interested me mostly because it seems yet another sign of the impact the iPhone has, often well beyond just the smartphone market. I certainly can’t think of any other smartphone that would warrant similar treatment.

See Crunchgear’s post HERE for lots more detail on the Linkstation Pro, and the full Buffalo press release on it …
