I am probably in the minority when it comes to hating those very distinctive white Apple earphones. I’m not necessarily talking about their sound quality per se, but rather the way they stand out like a sore thumb when I’m using them. It wasn’t so bad with the iPod, as I can easily replace the white earphones with whatever I have. Then the iPhone came along, with its recessed headphone jack. All of my existing earphones are now useless with the iPhone, unless of course I spend more money and get some kind of adaptor. Even with the adaptor, I’m still going to miss out on some features that the original iPhone earphones have to offer. So, am I going to sacrifice the ability to use the earphones to make a phone call, or fast forward my music with a pinch on the cord, just so I don’t have to wear those earphones? Well, if you are in the same boat as I was a couple of weeks ago, then worry no more!
Note: This review covers the three (3) Upgrader Series Headphones from Altec Lansing. Namely the UHS301 Earbuds, UHS306 Earphones, UHS307 Earclips-S. Any feature or features that are unique to one particular model have been noted as such. Unless otherwise noted, all of the comments will be in reference to all the Upgrader Series as a whole.
Ever wonder how it feels like to be like Chief John Anderton with his fancy multi-touch screen and good looks? Well wonder no more. Okay, we can’t do much about that ugly mug, but with this new app, combine with your iPhone, you can pretend to be Chief John Anderton.
CedSoft’s blog have just released the "Minority Report" like interface app for the iPhone. Hit the blue link for more details and some hands on video.
Got these from the mail a couple of days ago, and haven’t got the chance to snap pictures until today. Anyway, it’s better late than never, right? So here it is. The new Upgrader Series UHP Headphones from Altec Lansing.
These series of headphones are designed with the Apple iPhone in mind. It comes with the standard in-line microphone, call answer/end button for phone calls to name a few. The series are also compatible with other mobile phones, and of course for MP3 players.
I have started using the UHS 301 for a few days now, and so far it’s one heck of an upgrade from the original white earphone.
Looks like those who are wanting and waiting to have stylus for their iPhone can now finally fulfill their wishes. While it doesn’t look like anywhere near a conventional stylus, the new Pogo stylus from Tenonedesign.com are design to work as one. Not sure how they accomplished such feat, but they sure are not telling.
The Pogo Stylus has been engineered using a patent-pending technology to simulate the touch of a finger on the Multi-Touch display. This isn’t a "real" answer, but it is management speak for, "we’re not telling."
While I personally don’t yearn for one, I’m pretty sure my colleague Patrick will be jumping for joy of this breakthrough. It took less than a month after his revelation of wanting a stylus, and his prayer have already been answered.
With a price tag of $24.95, this stick doesn’t come cheap. You can learn more about the pogo stylus at tenonedesign.com. Be sure to read the FAQ as it contains some useful information.
Saw this one at Geardiary.com, and I just couldn’t resist sharing. This might be of great interest for those DIY type of person. Looks like igonemobile.com is selling this battery replacement for the Apple iPhone, and they got theirs hands on one.
Here’s what the article says about the battery replacement kit.
The Apple iPhone Li-Ion Battery+Replacement Kit does have a screwdriver, a green plastic mini pry bar, and an instruction manual in English. The 1400mAh, 3.7V iPhone battery looks authentic, but what frightens me is the three exposed wires.
This is suppose to be review article, but I didn’t really read anything that would suggest it being a review. Nonetheless, still interesting to see that there’s an option for DIY when my iPhone battery dies.
Head on over to Geardiary.com for the complete story.

There are few things in this world that are guaranteed to grab my attention, and funky graphics are always on the top of my list. So when USBFever.com announced their fun new line of graphic case for the Apple iPhone, I just couldn’t pass it up.
I won’t bore you too much with all the “specs” and whatnot in this review, instead I’ll focus more on what new things this case brings to the table.
If you are fans of logic puzzles and own an iPhone, today is your lucky day. Ojom just announced its release of Maya - Temple of Secrets. As reported by macnn.com, this game is the first ever from Ojom that is specifically designed for the Apple iPhone.
You will travel deep into the jungle on a quest to reveal secrets of the hidden Maya Temple.
If the story-line doesn’t get you, the graphics will. The game sports very nice graphics and a very “Indiana Jones” like atmosphere. Which of course is a good thing as it ties in with the theme of the game very well.
The games looks very interesting, and I would’ve loved to try it, but unfortunately I can’t seem to find anything on the site to point me in the right direction. Hopefully this issue will be sorted out soon enough for us to be able to enjoy the game on our iPhones.
Features:
A logic puzzle with a twist… and a flip. The rules are simple - but the mayan’s ingenuity is immeasurable.
Rotate the triangles so that the tips match to create a kaleidoscope of colored patterns
Solve the puzzles and discover the unsolved mysteries of the secret Maya Temple
The playability is enhanced by bright and colorful graphics that bring the jungle to life
Go check out the full details about this game here.
I’m the first to admit that I’m very protective when it comes to my Tech-Toys. On the other hand, I hate to see my gadget all wrapped up like a mummy. Yeah, I know it doesn’t make sense at all, or does it?
So, when I first got my hands on the Apple iPhone, one of my biggest dilemma wasn’t to Jailbreak or not, but rather how to keep my gadget in pristine condition. In fact, I spent another $30+ on a crystal case before I even left the Apple Store. Of course that’s $30+ wasted, as I no longer use it after just several days of use.
The market for jailbreak apps is ONLY in countries where there is no App Store. Hackers and non-mainstream apps will move over to Android… — Craig Hockenberry, IconFactory (makers of Twitterific)
