Unless you’re new to JAMM or JAiB chances are you’re not new to our friends at OtterBox. Maybe you have or maybe you haven’t actually tried some of their products, but I’ve made it no secret over the past while that I’m a big fan of theirs. Without fail they are always top quality and they provide a level of protection that many other cases don’t. In my time using OtterBox cases I’ve had the pleasure and pain of dropping my stuff more times than I care to count, I’ve banged things on counters to prove how tough they are to people who ask, heck I’ve even accidentally launched my iPhone on an airborne adventure across my kitchen while talking way to much with my hands…
All of this leads up to one thing – if I’m planning on doing something that I know is going to potentially lead to unsafe times for my device, I reach for an OtterBox. Its the first and generally only case I don’t hesitate to put on my iPhone. Well, now they also have the pleasure of being my #1 choice for protecting my iPod Touch. Click on through after the break – We’re going to check out the latest OtterBox products for the iPod Touch 2nd Gen.
WARNING: I’m about to go off. If you’re under about 13 you may have heard some of these words on the play ground. Do not repeat them. If you’re over 13 and your parents don’t kick your butt for saying them, they should. If you’re an adult and you get offended easily, bummer. Welcome to the internet, I highly recommend you don’t click past the break. If you are a prospective employer of mine, please understand that this is done out of love for my community and please consider it a showing of my passion for my hobby.
First off let’s take a look at what just sparked this. Here’s a shiny new app that just hit the app store:

Not a lot to say on this one and not a lot for you to read. Pandora looks to have upped the bar quite a bit with this new update including genius type station creation, artist bios and more.
Anyway, you know how to download it … So get outta here and go get it!!

You’re likely all well aware already of my fondness for Zagg’s InvisibleShield product line. Well recently our friends at Zagg recently introduced a new product unlike anything they’ve done before and the real question is - have they managed to release another “must have” product, or is this just another set of headphones that cost a lot of money but don’t really deliver. Well, the only way to find out how I felt about them is to click on through!
A short while ago a new company sprang up on the JAMM radar and we were quick to give them a holler and ask to take a look at some of their gear. This new (to us) company - Rivet - has been around for quite a long time making clip systems for consumer electronics and you can find these clip systems on all sorts of cases from MP3 players to phones.
Well, they popped up on our radar when they started to team up with the folks over at Vaja. So far this information and technology sharing team up has produced some excellent stuff - one of them being the Rivet Hard Leather Case for the iPhone 3G. So, since we’re all here anyway – how’s about we take a look?
Quick post here - many of you are well aware of our sister site Just Another Mobile Monday. Well this is a quick heads up that over at JAMM we’re running a pretty big giveaway this week. The part that applies to you folks here at JAiB is that I personally am tossing in a bunch of stuff from JAVOedge, OtterBox, Speck and others - all for the iPhone, iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch (2nd Gen).
So, if you’d like to get in on the freebie action and possibly win a free case for your iPhone or Touch - head on over and take a shot at winning!

Shopper is an application (on sale for $0.99) that I picked up for my wife to use on her iPod Touch which does exactly what you would think it does - create shopping lists for your various store trips.
There’s quite a few shopping applications out there for the iPhone / Touch so feel free to wade through them, however I picked this one up because it has a fairly simple interface and it seemed to follow the iPhone interface guidelines well which I hoped would make it simpler for my wife to grasp quickly without a lot of fuss. I also really liked that the developer included a video on their website which let me see what the app looked like and felt like to use.
Key features I found that were great in this app: Support for multiple lists so you can have individual lists depending on what store you plan to go to
Huge selection of pre included items ranging from fruits and veggies to pharmacy items
Search - which let’s you avoid going through each category. You just type in steak and it let’s you add it immediately Support for quantities and easy increase/decrease of the amount you need
Price support
Item grouping - so you can go to the store and see all the items in say the Dairy section, that way you aren’t constantly scrolling through your list to make sure you aren’t having to come back to an area of the store twice
Add and delete of items so you can add in things that weren’t included in the program to begin with
Email support - so you can email the list to someone else if they are going to the store for you
All in all if you’re a person who does the bulk of the shopping for your family, or if you constantly keep a shopping list going on a piece of scrap paper - Shopper is an excellent application to add to your iPhone / Touch. I love the interface (looks like a notepad), it’s super easy to add stuff to your lists quickly, and once you’re at the store locating items by area and marking off items is a breeze. I loaded this app up on my wife’s Touch and she put it to use immediately with very few questions about how to do things. It’s already become a heavily used application by her and has saved us countless scraps of paper so far! The only thing I’d love to see is the ability to share lists between devices, that way she could send me the list and I could use Shopper when she sends me to the store!
So just over a month ago our friends at OtterBox took a huge step and released something that isn’t quite tough enough to protect your iPhone 3G from getting rolled over by a car, hit by a truck, or dumped into a raging river - but tough enough to protect your iPhone from life’s daily battles and still look and feel great doing it. OtterBox is known for tough. They aren’t known for smexy, they aren’t known for girly, they sure as heck aren’t known for making cases that include anything that might resemble stylish. They are known for tough. Take a look at this clip from their "About Us Page"
Our cases are dedicated to all the klutzy, spontaneous, chaotic, graceless individuals who have broken a device or valuable due to their active lifestyle. Like our customers, we’ve been there too!
So naturally I was a bit surprised when they announced the Impact series. I mean come on - something that promises to not be just as thick as your iPhone, soft, and yet still tough enough to bear the OtterBox name? That sounds like it might be pushing the limits of technology there. So how did they do? Read on…
Apple could even give Nintendo a run for its money – playing video games on the iPhone is a joy, with users simply having to tilt and rotate the iPhone to control the actions of on-screen characters. — The Telegraph
