Looks like Griffin Technology are raring to go for the iPhone 3G, with a good range of cases and other accessories set to be ready by the 3G launch day.
There site is showing a number of their existing iPhone case options - and a couple brand new ones for the iPhone 3G only - as:
coming soon and will be available in plenty of time for the official availability of iPhone 3G.
Here’s a look at some of the 3G exclusive and 3G plus V1 iPhone cases showing now at Griffin’s 3G page:

Just Mobile’s Xtand was a rare iPhone stand that really caught my eye a few weeks back, with its solid and strong looks, that had me thinking $50 didn’t seem that crazy for just a stand (maybe).
Nice to see that iLounge has now given the Xtand a once-over and seem pretty impressed with it. Not a whole bunch to be said about a stand at the end of the day, but they seem impressed with the design and functionality of it:
The first piece, an iPhone cradle, holds the first-generation iPhone with rubberized corners and a molded aluminum frame, while the second piece is a curved stand that looks like Apple’s monitor stands, including a hole in the center for cable management
For more details and some very nice pics of it in use head over HERE …
The only bad news - it’s only compatible with the V1 iPhone …
I am one of the crazy and twisted minority who would like to use a stylus with the iPhone. Well, would like to use one *if* the iPhone did handwriting recognition - as I’d only want to use the stylus for a single purpose, taking quick, handwritten notes.
So this newly announced stylus from Brightonnet looks good to me - especially given this unexpected bonus feature of it:
It’s designed to bend at the neck, facilitating touch-and-drag functions for those with iPhones and chunky fingertips, or who just prefer carrying around a stylus.
Sounds quite cool - but still no good to me unless Apple decides to do that handwriting recognition thing …
Since I first got my iPhone in August I have been looking for a good portable speaker system to use with it.
It still boggle’s my mind that almost a year after it was first released the number of speaker systems that can be used with the iPhone without first having to put it into Flight Mode can be counted on one hand.
Is it THAT difficult to add enough shielding to prevent the horrid “GSM BUZZZZZZZZ” from destroying your music and your ears?
Thankfully a few shielded systems are finally emerging and while the choices remain limited, the items within that limited choice are pretty impressive. A quick look at the Apple Store reveals
Up to now I have honestly never felt very excited about a stand for the iPhone - but the new Xtand has got me pretty close. I just really like the solid, gadgety looks of this ‘full metal’ rotating stand, and also think it could prove dead useful on the desktop.
My iPhone tends to lay flat on my desk (at home or work) somewhere quite near my laptop. Its cradle lives on a shelf near the desk. This arrangement is fine, but the Xtand looks like a potentially much better home for the iPhone on a desk at home. A stand of this kind seems like it could make iPhone usage at the desk just a bit faster - especially for things like phone calls, playing the iPod, or even watching the occasional video. Plus, I just want something that hard-nosed looking on my desk
Having reviewed two of other Etymotic headsets, the E6i and the hf2, I came into this review already a fan of Etymotic Research’s products. The E6i and the hf2 are, by far, the best headsets I have ever used. I was, therefore, thrilled to have the opportunity to use and review the new etyBLU Dual Mode Noise-Isolating Headset.
The company describes the etyBLU headset as providing
“…exceptional sound quality and clear communication at both ends of the conversation.”

We were just talking about extended battery and power options for the iPhone the other night on the Just Another iPhone Chat TalkCast - and speculating about what new ones we might see when the 3G iPhone emerges. Today there’s news of a couple of new options from Kensington - with their Standard and Mini Battery Pack and Chargers for the iPhone (the Mini is pictured above and after the jump).
The Standard is a pretty, well, standard-looking brick that attaches to the iPhone via a dock cable, and offers considerably longer battery boosts than the Mini. The larger Standard model extends play time to up to 100 hours (music) / 6 hours (talk). The Mini offers up to 30 hours (music) / 3 hours (talk). They go for $49.99 for the Mini and $69.99 for the Standard.
Back in December I purchased and reviewed the 6isolator earphones from Eymotic. The were the first high-end earphone’s I had ever bought and over-all I was “wowed” by them. I did have a few reservations, however. I found/find that the exceptionally long (5’) cord is easily tangled and I was disappointed by the lack of an in-line mike. Over-all, though, I liked the 6isolators a lot and described them as “…HD for your ears!”
They quickly became, and have remained, my earphones of choice.
The kind folks at Etymotic have given me a chance to use their new hf2 headset and boy am I impressed. The sound quality is down right amazing. According to Etymotic the hf2 headset offers the same level of accurate sound quality as their premium ER-4P earphones.
If my 6isolators sound “great”, the hf2s sound… well… “greater”.
The folks at JAiB saw all three and thought, “Maybe one of these is the right headset for us? After all, the cops are really cracking down on the need for using a headset while driving.”
Alright - so I’m searching around the Intertubes for a video / photos whatever of the Apple BlackBook with an InvisibleSHIELD on it and not finding much. But, as with almost any search I somehow found myself on YouTube. I’m not much of a YouTuber but I did spend a few minutes checking out some of the videos of the MacBook and the InvisibleSHIELD. Then I come to find out that ZAGG (they make the stuff) has their own YouTube account. Now that I think about it… I already knew that but let’s just treat this as a new discovery. Anyway, I click on through to their channel, and I came across a great "parody" of the iPod Touch commercial that came out a while ago. Check it out. Oh, and I love my iPhone InvisibleSHIELD (REVIEW) so much … that I decided to pick one up for my MacBook. I’ll write something up about that experience in a few days.
Apple could even give Nintendo a run for its money – playing video games on the iPhone is a joy, with users simply having to tilt and rotate the iPhone to control the actions of on-screen characters. — The Telegraph
