This is the new Gold Deluxe iPhone theme, by MMi forum member mrmobile.
I’ve never considered myself a big fan of gold - as a color, or on jewelry etc. - but I find this color scheme on the iPhone pretty soothing and like quite a few of the icons on it.
This is a Summerboard theme, but one that is available via the MMiThemer application - you’ll need to have that installed in order to be able to install Gold Deluxe, and then choose it as your theme via SMBPrefs.
If you’re big on iPhone themes and changing them round often, MMiThemer is a great app to look at. It’s not brand new - I’ve been meaning to post about it for a little while now.
MMiThemer gives you access to a large number of iPhone themes from the ModMyiFone forums site’s repository. Most or all of these will not show up in Installer, so you need this app in order to see them.
ModMyiFone’s members have been a rich source of a large number of iPhone themes for quite a while now - and of many of the most creative and new sort of themes as well, things like Leaf and Vista Perfection, just to name two quick examples.
Before this app came along, I had a habit of checking the New Themes and Skins forum section at MMi quite regularly to see what new stuff was around - now it is much quicker to check things out via MMiThemer on the iPhone.
The app shows you Latest and Popular theme sections (Featured section does not work for me) and refreshes those each time you launch them. Once you install a theme via MMiThemer, you still need to use Summerboard to manage and select your theme.
Seems like it’s been a little quieter on the iPhone themes front lately, just as it has been on jailbreak apps generally - but here is one that caught my eye today - the new Blacklight iPhone theme.
Quite different and striking looking I think. Blacklight is an iPhone Summerboard theme, created by Allen from Planet-iPhones.
The theme works best with the Hide Icon Labels and Hide Dock Labels turned on within SMBPrefs.
Blacklight is available now in Installer an should not require any additional sources be added in order to see it …
Vista Perfection is easily one of the most striking and complete themes produced for the iPhone - providing much more than just a tweaked appearance- but much more of a radical transformation for the whole look, feel, layout, and navigation of the iPhone.
Whether you love or hate Vista, there is a whole lot to admire in the sheer depth of work that’s gone into this complex and gorgeous theme. And now there’s a big new update to it - to Vista Perfection 3.0.
Read on for the long list of big changes in the new version and details on where to get hold of it …
I’ve been using the Fresh iPhone Summerboard theme for a few weeks now (a long run for a theme) and liking it a whole lot.
Yesterday it got an update, and it looks even fresher now. The dock has been given the ’sandy’ treatment to make it stand out from the overall background more, the icons for Phone, Mail, Safari, and iPod have been changed, and even more 3rd party apps icons have been added.
Hey hey - here’s something kinda fun and nice for the weekend if you’re a fan of Firefox - a ‘theme’ for Safari on the iPhone that adds a distinct Fox flavor to it.
It’s by MMi forum member Hellbuster. I’m a big Firefox fan - especially of the blazing fast new Version 3 of it - and I like this skin quite a bit. Although it feels like it will take me a bit to get used to the different icons and buttons on it, it works nicely and looks good.
This is not in Installer yet, so you’ll need to check this MMi thread for download details.
The downloaded folder comes with a ReadMe file that provides short instructions on where you’ll need to copy files to in order to apply this skin. You’ll also need to respring and exit and re-open Safari for the changes to take effect.
Here’s to not ever seeing an IE skin - pleeeeze ….
I don’t know about any of you, but if I’m doing word association, Vista and perfection don’t often go together. But … this new VistaPerfection 2.0 iPhone theme is awfully impressive.
VistaPerfection was created by Spec Works (MMi forum member ebl4287). It’s a Summerboard compatible theme that gives your iPhone that unmistakable ‘I’m a PC’ feel - and has a very complete set of customization elements, including:
Over 90 icons
Dock
WiFi icon
Boot and restore images
Sliders
Edge icon
Vista login/logoff (unlock/lock) sound scheme
You’ll need to go through a fair number of steps, using the Categories app from the BigBoss source (and be comfortable with connecting via SSH to you phone for some of the steps) - but there is a very good set of instructions for you to follow - and the results look well worth the effort.
VistaPerfection is not on Installer just yet - so head over HERE for the download link and instructions on how to get it all looking and working just so …
That’s the Fresh iPhone theme created by invu shown above. As many of you can probably tell it is based on the Leaf theme by Sgt Cala.
It’s a Summerboard theme, and has icons for lots of the most popular 3rd party apps - I found very few of mine that are not covered as yet. Like Leaf, this one makes great use of typography I think, and I prefer the background and color scheme on Fresh.
This one is definitely my new favorite. It’s available now in Installer via the ModMyiFone source, which is part of Community Sources so you should not need to add any additional sources in order to see it …
This is AdvancedGlow FX, a new iPhone theme from MMi forum member cazurro and the miphoneworld site.
It’s a Summerboard theme, with a very striking and different look to it. It hasn’t got that many 3rd party icons as yet (hopefully they’ll be coming) and I had to rename a few of the standards from their Spanish variants to the default names in order for them to show up properly.
I like Glow FX quite a lot - and also enjoyed quite a few themes at the miphoneworld site that offer a fresh, unique feel to them - check them out at:
Louie Mantia has been one of the best-known and most popular iPhone theme / icon designers for a long while now, and this is his latest offering - the new Digg theme for the iPhone.
Digg is a Summerboard theme, and as usual with Louie Mantia themes the icons and overall look are elegant and minimalist.
I imagine this one will show up in Installer very soon, but for now you can download it HERE.
How many GPS-based applications do you expect to see for the iPhone in the future? A hundred? Two hundred? I say, all of them. Whenever it makes sense, the app will know where you are and where other iPhone users are, and make use of it. It’s going to be useful, it’s going to be fun, and it’s going to be huge. — Mashable
