One of Gear Diary’s excellent team of writers, Travis Ehrlich, is a football coach and teacher.  He’s got a great post up this week titled ‘iPhone in the Classroom’, that runs through some of the many uses he finds for the iPhone in his day-to-day teaching activities.

I enjoyed reading the article, as I’m a firm believer in the power of the iPhone as an educational tool (and have watched my 6 year old daughter get great use out of it) and it was fascinating to me to see some of the ways a teacher can incorporate it within class activities.

Travis talks about the types of apps he uses – ranging from those that help with grading to web search and pure fun apps.  I thought it was great to see a simple app like Today In History mentioned.  I really hope some of my daughter’s teachers in years to come manage to make use of the iPhone platform, or similar mobile technology, to enhance her learning experience. For a good read, check out Travis’ full post here:
