Tweetie for Mac added an interesting new feature yesterday – the ability to create quick video tweets within the app, using just the Mac’s built-in iSight camera. It’s very easy to use – probably too easy to use, because it encourages even dorks like me to give it a little try.
I gave it a quick go yesterday, rambling a little about the cool new Quantum Pool app, and fumbling around trying to show it off a little. I know other Twitter clients have had a video capability for a while, but Tweetie is my favorite on the Mac and co-favorite on the iPhone – along with Twitterrific.
So … with all the lovely ‘next iPhone model’ rumors that we’ve been seeing, and the growing consensus that video recording is virtually a lock to be included in a new model, I’m thinking / hoping that this new video tweet feature will also come to Tweetie for the iPhone later this summer.
I think it’s not a feature I’d use super-often, same as the TweetMic audio tweet app, but I like having them available and think they’re good fun to use. I’d probably use both quite a bit more if I wasn’t so dorky when using them.
If any of you would like to check out my dork-tacular first effort on Tweetie video tweets, you can find it HERE. I might occasionally try out more of these if there’s an app that lends itself to it …
