They cover all the basics and quite a few more things that some other books don't really get into. There's plenty of demo stuff for alerts, sliders, labels, tableviews and lots of other stuff. I've gone through Chapter 11 - and though I don't have a clue what I've read... its been interesting. Truth be told you'll create some interesting stuff throughout the book that teaches you the basics. Well worth the $10... heck its worth the $26 from Amazon.
