apple-event-latest-creation-promo-day-of

So today is the day.  We will finally learn what amazing new tablet / slate device Apple has in store for us.  The Apple ‘Latest Creation’ live event kicks off at 10:00AM PST today, 1:00PM Eastern.

Hopefully we’ll hear a fair amount of iPhone news at the event as well – how it ties into the new tablet, how iPhone apps may run on the larger new device, how similar their two operating systems will be, and when we’ll see the next new version of the iPhone OS.

Hit the jump for a few suggestions on the best places to go for live coverage …

If you’re looking for ways to follow the event live, here are just a few of my favorite places that I’ll be following along with for live blogs and discussion as it happens:

Gdgt: Ryan Block’s new home – I always find his instant analysis to be the sharpest.

everythingiCafe ‘not so live, live blog’: My favorite iPhone forum.  Their ‘not so live’ coverage is all about the discussion – lots of it.

FFRoom

Friendfeed – dedicated room for the event – 2010-01 Apple Event Live.  I’ll be spending a lot of time here as Friendfeed provides awesome real-time and threaded conversation.  Several of the site publishers from the ‘Got OATS’ alliance we’re part of (a group of review sites concerned with establishing and embracing ethical standards for app reviews) will be taking part here. Come join us if you have time, should be lots of fun.

There will be numerous other sites covering things live to one degree or another – places like Macrumors and TUAW I imagine, but those mentioned above are the ones I’ll follow and participate at.

Let us know your favorite spots to follow today’s event in the comments.  Hope to chat with some of you later. :)
