Itunes Preview for iPhone apps

iTunes Preview lets you see previews for iPhone apps in then comfort of your web browser, rather than having to load up the iTunes app in order to see these.  So whenever you click an App Store link for an app – like this one for Quickie in Brandon’s recent review – it should take you out to the iTunes Preview page for the app first.

Give that iTunes is quite a resource hog and not the speediest loading app around (not by any stretch), this is quite a nice new feature I think.  Apparently this feature has been around for checking out new iTunes music in a browser since last November, but this week the app previews capability was added.

I tested this in several browsers and ironically Chrome, Firefox, and Camino all offered me the choice on whether I also wanted to open iTunes as well as the preview page, while Safari just did it automatically (boo, hiss).

What do you all think of this new feature?  Useful or who cares?

I like this feature. I'm a Safari user and, yes, it would be nice to have the option of whether to open in browser or iTunes store. Maybe Apple can add this as a preference in Safari?
