Agile Messenger

TwitterLoginFail

I keep wanting to lay off this topic a bit, and then Apple serves up another gopher ball and I just have to swing at it.  The latest example of the stunning lack of common sense used in the App Store review ‘process’ (cough) involves a Twitter client app being rejected because Apple’s reviewer apparently tested it during a period of scheduled maintenance for Twitter last week – and rejected the app because he was unable to login.

It’s been pointed out that there’s no reason why Apple’s reviewers should need to keep up with Twitter’s maintenance schedules (or any other services’ either) – but it should be expected that they have a minimal amount of common sense and technical troubleshooting ability.  Enough, for example, to think ‘I wonder if it works on my desktop browser – oh look it doesn’t, and there’s a message saying why’

I learned of this via TechCrunch and I love MG Siegler’s headline on the post: ‘Apple Harpoons An iPhone App Due To Fail Whale Sighting’. Check out his post HERE for all the sad details on this one.

OK, now I am going to try to avoid any further posts on this subject this week.  What are the odds?  :)
