The team at SchroederDev has updated Lyrics+ for iPhone and iPod touch.

As you might expect, this application allows users to find lyrics of the songs stored on their iPods using title, artist or lyrics. The app taps into the LyricFind database, which contains well over 1 million tracks from over 40,000 artists.

Apart from including a few system quality tweaks, the new version adds the ability to view previous searches while offline as well as the option of playing a song via Search if it’s in your library.

For $ 1.00 / € 1.59 users can appreciate the fact that the service is legal with a portion of the revenue generated by the app going to the respective songwriters.

After taking it for a spin, I was pleasantly surprised to see it recognized rather obscure tracks like The Sound of Muzak by Porcupine tree, yet found it strange that it did not load the lyrics for the ever popular Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I guess they think everyone knows the words already? :-)

Oh well, at least I can scream the words to Killing in the Name by Rage against the machine!
