It basically takes far fewer taps to have a number and new contact saved with Digits. The Phone app involves: enter number, tap the icon for adding a number to new / existing contact, choose new contact, edit first/last name, click save on that, click save again - at a minimum. Digits involves: enter number, slide to continue, add first / last name, tape Done. It's quicker. The difference is a small one or a big one depending on your point of view. Doesn't that kinda of do the same thing?
