iTunesApplications

The iPhone App Store is open.  Hurrah.

I’ve only been playing round with it for a short while this morning, but so far, so good in using it.  It looks and works as well as expected.  Here are some very quick things I’ve noted in my initial look:

  • Works as shown on sneak peeks we’d seen on the web = when yAppStoreTop25ou hit Install on the iPhone, apps show an icon with progress bar while DLing and installing, then change to the proper app name when installation is complete
  • Install from both  iPhone and iTunes work well
  • iTunes prompts to Transfer apps (to it) that were installed on the iPhone
  • Had to search for ‘Applications’ in iTunes store – did not spot a direct link yet to it
  • I like that the Top 25 page has tabs at the top for Top Apps (paid) and Top Free Apps

The other main thing I’ve noticed is the selection of apps – and the selection of free apps in particular – looks great already – very good start!

Lots more updates soon ….
