Mobile Britannica offers a very nice iPhone-optimized web app option, for accessing the most famous of all encyclopedias on the iPhone.
Mobile Britannica works well on the iPhone – pages load quickly, and search results are quick and relevant. Its images are also iPhone optimized, and you can zoom on any of the smaller, in-page images to get a more full-sized look.
This is a good one to bookmark as a great reference resource, even if you have Wikipedia or another local solution – you can’t have too much knowledge right?

Nice find! Sometimes it still amazes me how much things have changed when I think back to the days when I had to go to my school’s library to reference an already out-dated encyclopedia for papers and general information. How great (though sometimes distracting) it is to have so much information at our fingertips!
