Agile Messenger

Agile Messenger with Push – my favorite iPhone IM app – has just had an update released.  Version 1.3 offers these key new features:

  • Walk’n’Talk function (enabling you to see where you are going while typing, when activated)
  • Translucent text editor
  • Searchable contacts
  • Speech bubbles
  • GUI and overall performance improvements

The app is also being offered at a heavily discounted price until the 30th of November. It is priced at just $1.99 until the end of the month, instead of its normal $9.99.

For lots more detail on Agile Messenger, see my recent review HERE.

What's stopping me from buying now, is Facebook chat. I like one APP to do it all…

Yup – I'm not a frequent user of Facebook at all, more of a once a month check-in type – but if you are, then I can see that being a big factor for you.

Patrick (or anyone else with experience). Since you are the one who made me a JB convert (THANK YOU BTW), can you tell me how well this works with something like backgrounder? I don't really like the push notification system because multiple items get jumbled and I am only able to see one actual notification.

Firstly, you're welcome. On the backgrounder question, I'm sorry but I'll need to leave that to others – as I don't use Backgrounder. I'm more than happy enough with using app-switching via mQuickDo and Kirikae and letting apps launch fresh each time. I see almost no speed gain when apps are backgrounded and don't like the battery life implications of it. Others may have different and better thoughts.
