Amongst the many web sites that offer news, commentary, and reviews of all things iPhone, here’s one that stands apart and offers a very useful service.

148Apps.com is one of those hidden gems of a web site that offers a few great lists — the top free apps, the top paid apps, and the latest apps to offer price reductions.    The latter is of significant interest as lately several apps have seen precipitous price drops — perhaps as the novelty of the App Store wears off and the competition begins to appear.   The list is especially useful to spot apps that are on sale for a limited time, not just apps with a (semi?) permanent price drop.

My one wish for the site – that it would track NEW apps to the App Store to replace the list that Apple had and did away with.    EDIT: They have it!   Just head here:  http://www.148apps.com/newest-148-app-store-additions/

Head on over to 148Apps.com or go directly to the Price Drop list here.

Along with RSS feed, and soon Twitter stream. I guess since you didn’t see it I need to find a better way to publicize it!

Cheers,
Jeff

yeah, apple really pissed me off with the fact that they got rid of the “new apps” section. Ugh.
