Patrick tipped me off to a new app in Cydia this morning, called AddExchange, that claims to add a second Exchange account to a jailbroken iPhone. This has been a dream of mine since Apple first introduced Exchange support in the iPhone OS (albeit with the limitation of only one account). Has my dream actually come true?
Since I use my iPhone 3GS for my business Exchange Account, I’ve been unable to take advantage of Gmail’s push and syncing of mail, contacts, and calendars, since it uses ActiveSync — essentially an Exchange account. If I could access both my business Exchange account AND my Google account, both from my iPhone, I would be one happy iPhone geek!
AddExchange does indeed do just what it claims — and it’s drop dead easy too! I’m still waiting to see what the side-effects or negative ramifications of running two Exchange accounts on a single iPhone, but so far I haven’t come across any. Each account maintains its own set of contacts, its own calendars, and of course its own mail folders. And the Gmail push is just as fast as my work Exchange.
After installing AddExchange, you launch the app from its springboard icon. From there, you simply tap a “+” button, and that’s it! AddExchange creates a new Exchange account behind the scenes, and names it SRV2. All you have to do at this point is open up its settings and change the defaults to whatever your second Exchange server uses. For me, I just changed it to use Google’s sync settings.
Oh and the best part of AddExchange? It’s completely free! This is probably going to be one of the most productive benefits of being jailbroken I have discovered!
You can find AddExchange in Cydia, just search for that name. You must be jailbroken running iPhone OS 3.0 or higher.

Cool. Can I set this up so I both my google cal and exchange cal are the same cal?
Nope, they'll be two completely separate calendars. That's the functionality of having two different Exchange-type accounts.
Is the 2 account use the same calendar ? The iPhone calendar ?
Not sure why I'm commenting on an old post, but ya… Haven't had time to read JAIB for a few days and just found this app myself. It's amazing. Having both work and personal email pushed to me and having both calendars on my lockscreen is perfection. I'm really not going to be able to upgrade to 4.0 whenever it comes out unless the teams have some tricks up their sleeve for a new jailbreak. Too much I can't live without now.
Have you noticed any problems yet with having two exchange accounts? With it linking to different calendars, it doesn't seem like it would be a problem unless you're syncing contacts with both. But I don't sync contacts.
