Multifl0w – the excellent new app switching app for jailbroken iPhones that we posted about yesterday – is now available on the Cydia store.
It had been looking as if the developer of Multifl0w was going to keep the app available on only the Rock store, which would have been very surprising as Cydia is clearly the leading jailbreak app store. Luckily the dev appears to have changed his mind and the app is now available in Cydia.
Cydia does not appear to be offering a trial version of Multifl0w right now (as the Rock store did initially) – so you need to purchase the app for $4.99. It is well worth the money in my opinion, and I’ve just bought it myself.

Totally agree it's worth the $5 bucks!!! I have yet to see a significant battery decrease from running 7-10 apps in the background. I am wondering why Apple has yet to give this to us? As far as I can tell it does not decrease battery life & my iPhone is just as fast while running the apps. If Apple gave me Google Voice, a better notification system, & multitasking like MultiFlow I would restore my phone. After experiencing what I can do with a jailbroken iPhone I will never switch back & I have also converted a few…..
I just bought and downloaded this app, for some strange reason backgrounder installed on my iphone, I am concerned about this
In the Rock store, it showed me just prior to install starting that it would also install Backgrounder and uninstall Kirikae. It relies on Backgrounder to do the actual backgrounding.
Truthfully, I prefer Kirikae for now. The UI is nice but in my opinion, Kirikae has more functionality. And for me, functionality prevails at the moment. If multifl0w updates to be close to the Pre's deck of cards where you can easily close an app but throwing it out or a close button, it would put it above Kirkae. To close an app, you have to go into the app….hold the home button down……and disable backgrounder vs. swiping to the right and hit the quit button in Kirikae. It's a great idea, but when you've got apps like Kirikae and mquickdo, it's hard to switch to something with a better UI.
I'll never pay for a Jailbreak-only app. If Apple ever achieves its goal of locking down the iphone, however unlikely that may be, any money I would have spent on JB-only apps will be forfeit. JMDO.
I agree there is always a degree of 'risk' when buying a jailbreak app – but I'm a believer in supporting some of these jailbreak developers who are really exploring the boundaries of what the iPhone can do.
I’m finding it difficult switching over to apps that replace my shortcut to favourites option (double hit home). Although I would find this app useful, I feel that I would miss my shorcut to home option. Any work arounds?
it's $$$, but iRealQuickSMS on Rock App or Cydia can let you have basically one or two-tap access to your favourite contacts. They'll pop up in a lil list on-screen. I've reviewed the app here on the site and there are screenshots to show you if ya like. It's replaced my phone app for most everything except voicemail and recent calls.
In Kirikae, if you double hit home it starts Kirikae interface but if you immediately double hit home again it goes to favorites.
Isn't it easier to just tap Favorites on screen?
