According to The Times Online, Championship Manager – the original and best-known football management game – may be coming to the iPhone very soon.

Thanks to a mysterious source draped in gold chains and a camel coat, The Times can exclusively reveal that the best-selling football management sim Championship Manager is about to come to the iPhone.

Our man would not give a precise release date, but we believe that the new game is with Apple right now, and awaiting their approval for launch on the App store.

I took a quick look at the official Championship Manager web site, and sure enough there is a link for iPhone under ‘The Game’ section.  It offers no details or information as yet, but it’s telling that there’s an iPhone link there.

There’s also very little detail on what the game may be like in its iPhone incarnation in the Times’ post – but just knowing that the classic footie manager game is likely coming soon for iPhone is good enough for now. It’s only a little over a week ago that I posted on Soccer Manager, the first football manager game I’ve seen for iPhone OS – now it looks like we may soon be spoiled for choice in this area.  I like the sound of that ….
