Maybe it’s just because I have more hair on my forearms these days than on my head, but this one just makes me laugh and laugh. Haircaster is a new iPhone app that is made to help you avoid treacherous hair / weather conditions, bad hair days, and to keep ‘frizz’ at bay.
It uses a ‘proprietary formula developed in consultation with hair care professionals’, to do this:
… analyzes the actual weather conditions including: humidity, wind, rain and temperature – anywhere in the US to tell you what kind of hair day you can expect outside.
The app’s whole description is just a wonderful read, full of detail on features that are critical to the successful avoidance of bad hair days. Here’s another little slice:
In addition a customized paragraph is generated to give further detail, warnings and tips for dealing with your particular hair day
Here is my very favorite part though:
A simple 5 stage display ranges from "PERFECT" to "STAY HOME!" based on your current local weather conditions
I love that. It’s like snow days when I was a kid, waiting for school closure announcements. Now all you need is this iPhone app to let you know when you NEED to stay home.
I’d vote for incorporating this into all TV weather forecasts – and I’ve gotta try to grow my hair out just to give this app a whirl.
