iPhone Speed Dial app screenshot

The new Speed Dial app is real speed dial – no tel:// URLs and a confirmation message in Safari to make your call – just tap a name and dial …

The Big Boss source has been bringing out some really great apps for the iPhone lately.  These have included some great patches and utilities to use with firmware 1.1.3 to fix an assortment of issues that have cropped up with the various jailbreak methods.

Tonight they’ve brought out the new Speed Dial app – which provides ‘real’ speed dial for the iPhone – meaning no need to enter a tel:// URL and then a number, and confirm your call via a Safari popup – just tap once on a person’s name and it’s dialing for you.

Speed Dial is easy to use, all GUI based, and also gives you the Contacts app / address book contained within it – so you don’t need to maintain a separate home screen icon just for Contacts.

This one is definitely on my first home screen.

To get Speed Dial you’ll need to add the Big Boss source to Installer – which is: http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo.  Once you’ve added that source, you should see Speed Dial in the Utilities section.

Thank you Patrick, I have been using that. It is nice, but takes too long sometimes having to load the page on edge(too long is two seconds, lol). I think a native speed dial is my number one wish for the iPhone. HoFo is overran now with junk posters, what is the best forum for learning about the iPhone. Thanks again!

2 seconds too long = LOL, know that feeling. Forums = there are several that are good, but I think the three best, in no particular order, are EverythingiCafe, Macrumors, and ModMyiFone – all very good and full of some seriously knowledgeable folks …

I'm looking for an iPhone app that allows me to speed dial from the keypad using numbers 1-99 and then hit 'dial' or just hold down the number. I don't think this app does it, and I haven't found any other app to do it either. Thoughts??
