PogoPlank – the brilliant springboard replacement app which is my new BFF on the iPhone and which I like to think of as the best way to walk around with 170 iPhone apps and just one home screen – is going to be getting an update tonight. There is some good news, bad news and ‘even better news’ about the update, which has all been shared by the PogoPlank devs via Twitter just recently.
So here is the rundown on the good, the bad and the even better:
- Good: There’s an update coming tonight and it will include app sorting. That’s probably Number 3 on my Top 3 wish list items for the app.
- Bad: Spotlight and smoother wheel are not in this update.
- Even Better: Spotlight is in the upcoming 2.0 update – which is due to be ‘previewed’ next week.
My only remaining questions: How soon after preview stage will we see 2.0 in Cydia, and will smoother wheel make it into 2.0? (and if the wheel improvements don’t make it into 2.0, when is 2.1 and are they in that?)
In any case, great to hear the devs are hard at work on improving this super clever concept, and looking forward to tonight’s update.

Thanks Chirpstuff and Diego, for providing good answers. It is Glasklart and the PogoPlank wheel of course, and the wallpaper is from the Mac Wallpapers package (also via Cydia).
love pogoplank – but I upgraded before your announcement. What version would your writeup upgrade to? I'm at 1.1-4 now, and would like to know how to sort apps in the folders.
The update talked about in this post has not come out yet – as at Sunday 11/8 at 10:30pm Central anyway. Not sure what the holdup is – from what I can gather from very brief tweets by devs it is with Cydia – but I cannot get replies from them to email or tweets.

Nope, not any of mine that I can see anyway.
I would like it if they added an option to have it straight up and down on the left side instead of the circle.
That might be interesting, although I think the wheel may be a more comfortable / natural shape and position to work with for me, especially once we see the promised update to make it smoother.
the new update is out but now its broke, others and myself are getting "size mismatch" when installing new update.
I get the same when I try to update. Have asked them about this on Twitter, but won't hold breath for an answer as so far they have a 0.0 response rate to emails and tweets.
