Yes you can use the Apple stereo headset which has the small microphone built into the cord. The app just has to "hear" the music, using the iPhone's mic, or or some external mic for the iPod (both 1st & 2nd generation iPod touch are supported).

Can i use the iPod Touch mic headset with the shazam app.I wanted to know if i could use the mic headset that you can buy from the apple online store and would it work for the shazam app on the iPod Touch 2G.
