Photoshop iPhone app

Photoshop has been the king of desktop image manipulation software ever since I can remember.  Now there’s a version of it for the iPhone – called Photoshop.com Mobile. It looks like a proper, official version as well – with the seller listed in the App Store as Adobe Systems.

The new app is the mobile companion to the Photoshop.com site – which offers a cut-down set of image editing and sharing tools, as well as 2GB of free storage for your images with a free account.  I’ve only used the Photoshop.com site a handful of times – and though of course its feature set is much more limited than the full-powered desktop app, it’s still a pretty useful service if you’re doing basic image editing and adjusting.

I haven’t had a chance to try out the new iPhone app as yet, as I only just heard about it – via another great tip from our friends at KRAPPS.

Here are some of the editing capabilities listed for Photoshop.com Mobile in its App Store description:

  • Basics: crop, rotate, and flip
  • Color: exposure, saturation, tint, black and white
  • Filters: sketch, soft focus
  • Effects: vibrant, pop, border, vignette, blur, warm vintage, rainbow, white glow, soft black, and white

There are a number of very good and capable photo editing and manipulation apps in the App Store, based on what I hear from my colleague Thomas and a number of other folks who have checked some of them out.  Photogene is one that I always hear good things about.

It will be very interesting to see how this Photoshop app stacks up against some of its App Store rivals – and I imagine one of us will be giving it a look and a review quite soon.

You can find Photoshop.com Mobile in the App Store now, and it is a free app.
